Bach- Concerto Piano no.1

Posted in Baroque, Concertos at 8:41 pm by لرد شارلون

J.S.Bach

There were decades in today Germany which the word Bach was the same as music. Today, if this is not true, yet Bach is a major part of the music. He’s with no doubt influenced music and all successor composers. From Beethoven to Chopin. And from Liszt to Debussy and Stravinsky. If there were times that musicians didn’t think of Beethoven as a genius or a great composer, this has never been the case for Bach; there were only doubts of how high he is. You can probably find at least one piece of any composer which he had been thinking of one of Bach’s when he/she had been writing that.

J.S. Bach

As for the habit of these recent posts, I’m not going to write about the composer :D For this post it was very good to write about the performer, Glen Gould, too. But I’m just busy and tired and maybe lazy, too!
I’ll have another movement of Bach’s piano concertos soon, let’s hope I’ll write more then.
Anyway, you can listen to the Concerto for the Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in D minor, BWV 1052 first movement, Allegro by Johann Sebastian Bach. It’s performed by Columbia symphony orchestra, conducted by Leonard Bernstein and Glen Gould has played the piano.
The concerto was originally composed for a Harpsichord, two oboes or a violin.

    Hi again:
I hope I won’t be accused of having no music taste but, Big B’s music seems a bit mechanical to me. One cause of this might be the limitations of the instrument at his time. Of course there is no doubt in his music gift, and/or talent as a composer, it’s more of an aesthetic point of view.

One more thing: His first name is “Johann” (with two n’s)

to say that bach’s music is mechanical implies that whoever thinks of it that way has a very shallow understanding of his music which is beyong any other music deep and sensitive. Just listen to busoni transcriptions for piano to see how bach’s music could have possibly been if the piano was invented at his time.
An additional comment bach’s music was long forgotten the whole 18th century and didn’t get revived till the time of chopin’s (19th) century, adding to that many of his works were lost
